Client-Server Architecture
STAR-CCM+ works with a light java client that runs on the user’s desktop machine, connected to the server that runs on the same or another machine (e.g. a cluster).

or make set-up changes to a case with millions of cells, running on a
large cluster.
The pre/post-processor is an integral part of the solver. Changes made in the client (e.g. turbulence model or boundary condition) are instantly reflected in the solver. Conversely, an updated the flow field can be visualized at each iteration, with no additional overhead.
